Anglia Ruskin University Judo Research Group

In September 2014 The Anglia Ruskin Judo Research Group joined with the Anglia Ruskin Sport and Exercise Science Research Group (SESRG) for a research away day, to share best practice in research activity.

Presentations were made by the PhD students and the new staff in the morning, and in the afternoon, the established staff updated on their recent activities.

Dr Mat Timmis introduced colleagues to the expected Research Excellence Framework (REF), and how the SESRG might contribute to that. Judospace is proud to make a significant contrbution to this activity.

The pair are using the 2014 World Championships to ensure that research produced is evidence based and up to date.

Updates from their trip and research projects to follow.

On the 23rd October 2012 the UK's only judo specific research group was formed. Judospace Chief Executive Dr Mike Callan is director of the group which is based at the Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge.

There are numerous projects completed by the group and several in progress or application. A more comprehensive list can be found on the activities report below.
