Work Experience for Cadet Judoka

From 31 March – 4 April 2014, the Judospace team were joined by young judoka Kye Orledge for his work experience placement.

Kye is a student at Beechen Cliff School, whose alumni include Judo Grand Prix winner Tom Reed and Olympic Champions Jason Gardener (Athletics) and Amy Williams (Bob-Skeleton). A work experience week is part of the curriculum for year 10 pupils.

During his week he has tried out different roles within the company with different tasks including; website and social media management, course development, and general administrative duties. He also had the chance to study basic Japanese language with Kodokan Assistant Teacher Yoshiaki Tsuruoka.

Kye is a young cadet judoka, his objectives for this year are regaining a place on the England Talent Development squad and winning medals at home and abroad. His favourite techniques are uchi mata and juji gatame.

Kye said; “It has been a great experience for me, understanding all that goes on behind the scenes at Judospace. I want to thank everyone for making me so welcome.”
