Dr Mike Callan promoted to 7th dan

We are delighted to announce that Dr Mike Callan, Principal of the Judospace Educational Institute has been informed of his successful promotion to the grade of 7th dan.
The grade is approved by the Executive Committee of the European Judo Union, led by President Sergey Soloveychik, on the advice of the Continental Grade and dan rank Director, Vice-President Franco Capelletti 9th dan. Dr Callan was proposed by the British Judo Association Chairman Ronnie Saez, on the advice of the High Grade Review Chair Dr George Kerr CBE 10th dan and Panel member Colin McIver 9th dan. The process is is initiated by the British Judo Association Promotions and Gradings Commission led by Dave Clark and managed by the National Promotions and Gradings Manager Dave Horton-Jones.
Dr Callan said; “I am delighted to be informed of this promotion. Thank you to the senior grades in the EJU and BJA for this recognition. I am grateful to colleagues in the European Judo Union, the International Judo Federation, the Commonwealth Judo Association, the International Association of Judo Researchers, and the Solidarity of International Judo Education for the opportunity to have contributed to the development of judo internationally over recent years. I am fortunate to have worked with many federations and many coaches through the Judospace Educational Institute, thanks to all of them for their support.
